They gave this cripple 52 million dollars even with Ty Law on the market. I am an admitted Green Bay hater but GB management reminds me of the bears management 5-10 years ago, horrible personnel decisions.

Im not saying it because he won the Heisman, because even I, the biggest UT hater this side of the Mississippi, know that Manning should have won it.
No receiver in CFB ever burnt Woodson.
Even in the NFL, until the injuries, he was a shut down corner, Deion-style.

I figured you might bring up the Hypesman thing, but that's not it at all. He had no control over that. That was all ESPN.
My argument is that he played in one of, if not the weakest passing conference in the country. The second best team in that conference when he played was Northwestern and then they didn't pass the ball all over like they do now. They were more balanced with Autry running the ball. It's a run dominated conference. Nobody could pass the ball. Woodson was a very good player. I don't recognize him as being a shutdown corner at all. He was, but it should be more attributed to the conference he in played as to the skills he had. Maybe I should have called him the most overhyped player, and not a joke. I've just never been overly impressed by him at either level. Very good speed, great athlete, average to slightly above average cover skills.

I think the biggest reason he won the heisman is because michigan won the national title. Of course they dont beat ohio state or washington state without woodson. I disagree with what your saying about who he played against though ironlung. He shut down Terry Glenn as a freshman, always did an outstanding job against David Boston, Derrick Mason, Bobby Engram, Joe Jurevicius and Muhsin Muhammad. Sure the big 10 runs alot more than they pass, but you cant really say he didnt play against anybody and thats almost like discrediting that he was nfl defensive rookie of the year the next season and went to three pro bowls. I think Woodson is a great player, hes just always hurt and I think with the raiders losing all of those years, he lost interest and quit playing hard.
